PalCommand legal

End user license agreement

Version 1.2 — 6 August 2026. PalCommand is in closed beta and purchases are not yet available. This agreement takes effect at public launch; updates will be posted on this page.

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you and PalCommand, a sole trader business operated from Queensland, Australia ("PalCommand", "we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].

You accept this Agreement by clicking "Agree" when it is presented at first run or account checkout, or otherwise by installing or using PalCommand. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software; if you have started a trial or purchased a subscription, cancel it and request any available refund as described in the Terms of Sale.

1. What this Agreement covers

PalCommand is a Windows desktop application for installing, configuring, running, backing up and monitoring Palworld dedicated servers on your own computer. Access uses a PalCommand account and is sold as an annual (US$49.99/year) or monthly (US$5.99/month) subscription. An eligible new account may start a card-required seven-day Pro trial. Unless cancelled before the exact charge date shown at checkout and in the account UI, the selected subscription begins automatically when the trial ends. There is no permanent no-cost tier in this release model.

Purchases are processed by Polar (Polar Software, Inc.) as merchant of record. The purchase itself (payment, tax, invoices, refunds) is governed by the Terms of Sale; your right to use the software — during a trial or paid period — is governed by this Agreement. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

2. License grant and scope

Subject to this Agreement (and, for paid features, an active subscription), PalCommand grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the PalCommand application to manage Palworld dedicated servers under your control.

Who and how many devices. A subscription is for use by one individual, or by one organisation and its staff. Both plans include activation on up to 3 devices at the same time, shared across the individual or organisation holding the subscription (a "device" is one Windows installation). Activations are enforced by account-bound device tokens and server-signed entitlements. You can free a slot from the account/device UI; if a device is lost, dead, or cannot be deactivated, email [email protected] and we will release the activation. The applicable device limit is also stated on the product page and applies as stated at the time of your purchase.

Commercial hosting is allowed. You may use PalCommand to run servers for communities that charge membership fees or accept donations, and as part of a commercial game-server hosting business, provided each operator or organisation using the app holds its own subscription.

What you may not do. You may not: (a) redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense or provide the PalCommand application itself to third parties, or rebrand it as your own product; (b) disclose, publish or pool account credentials, device tokens, or MCP pairing credentials outside the individual or organisation that holds the subscription — use by its authorised staff on its activated devices is permitted and is not "sharing"; (c) circumvent or attempt to circumvent account, trial, entitlement, device, or MCP scope enforcement; (d) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law; or (e) remove or alter proprietary notices.

3. Subscription, renewal, cancellation, lapse

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled and are billed by Polar; full terms, including the refund policy, are in the Terms of Sale. In summary:

  • The seven-day trial starts only when Polar creates the subscription in its on_trial state. The checkout and account UI state the selected price, exact first-charge date, automatic renewal, and cancellation path. Trial eligibility is limited and is not reset by deleting or recreating an account.
  • You may cancel at any time. A trial cancellation prevents the scheduled first charge while access continues only until its stated trial end; a paid cancellation ordinarily takes effect at the end of the paid period.
  • When access expires, nothing is deleted and nothing stops. PalCommand enters Safety Mode. Running servers keep running, and observation, logs, saves, graceful stop, verified manual backup/export, local-data deletion, and account/billing access remain available. Starting or restarting servers, creating/importing/restoring, changing settings/network/mods, schedules, updates, moderation/broadcasts, watchdog restarts, and MCP mutations require restored access.
  • Established paid accounts may receive the signed 14-day offline grace shown by the application. Trials never receive that grace and require an online account refresh after an app restart.

4. Updates and support

Updates. The app periodically checks a PalCommand-operated endpoint for new versions and notifies you; it never downloads or installs updates by itself — you choose when to update. While your subscription is active you are entitled to all updates we release for the app. We do not promise that any particular feature will be maintained indefinitely, or that the app will remain compatible with future versions of Palworld, Windows, or third-party components (see §7). If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, nothing in this section limits your statutory right to receive the updates — including security updates — that are necessary to keep the software in conformity with your contract for the period required by law, or your statutory remedies if we fail to supply them. The supported operating environment is stated on the product page at the time of purchase.

Changes to the software. Beyond what is needed to keep the software in conformity, we will only modify or remove functionality during a period you have paid for where there is a valid reason — security, legal compliance, changes in Palworld, Windows or other third-party components the software depends on, or necessary technical operation — and always at no additional cost to you. If a change materially and adversely affects functionality you paid for, we will give you notice in a durable form reasonably in advance, and you may terminate your subscription and receive a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees for the remaining period.

Support. Support means reasonable-effort assistance with the PalCommand application via [email protected] while you hold an active subscription (limited assistance may also be offered during a trial or for account/billing access). Support does not include: administering or troubleshooting the Palworld game or its servers beyond the app's features, your network, port forwarding, or hosting environment; third-party mods (including PalDefender); or guaranteed response times. No service-level agreement is offered.

5. Your servers, saves and data

Everything PalCommand manages — server installs, world saves, configuration and backups — is stored locally on your machine and remains yours. PalCommand does not host your servers and does not upload your saves anywhere.

6. Backups and data loss — important

PalCommand includes backup and restore features for Palworld world saves. These features are provided on a best-effort basis. Game saves can be corrupted or lost by causes outside PalCommand's control, including Palworld or Steam updates, server crashes, disk failure, backups taken while the game server was writing, third-party mods, and operating-system issues.

You are responsible for maintaining your own independent backups of any world saves and configuration you care about, on separate storage, and for testing that they restore. Subject to §9 (your non-excludable statutory rights) and §10, to the maximum extent permitted by law PalCommand is not liable for corruption, loss or unrecoverability of world saves, server data, configuration or backups caused by factors outside our reasonable control (including the causes listed above). This section does not exclude liability for loss caused by our failure to comply with a consumer guarantee or by our negligence; such liability is instead limited as permitted by law under §§9–10.

7. Third-party software, services and games

  • Palworld / Pocketpair. PalCommand is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pocketpair, Inc. "Palworld" is a trademark of Pocketpair, Inc. Your use of the Palworld dedicated server is governed by Pocketpair's own terms. Game updates may change or break server behaviour at any time.
  • Steam / Valve. PalCommand downloads SteamCMD and the Palworld dedicated server from Valve's distribution network. Your use of that software is governed by Valve's terms.
  • PalDefender. PalDefender is a third-party server mod by its own author, downloaded at your request directly from its official GitHub releases and governed by its own licence. PalCommand does not author, host, or warrant it.
  • Discord. If you configure webhook notifications, delivery to Discord is governed by Discord's terms.
  • WorkOS AuthKit provides hosted account authentication, including email codes and passkeys.
  • Polar is merchant of record and processes checkout, trial, subscription, portal, payment, tax, invoice, cancellation, and refund events.

Third-party services may change or become unavailable; PalCommand is not responsible for them, and features that depend on them may stop working if they change.

8. Privacy

The Privacy Policy describes exactly what the app sends over the network, to whom, and why — including account authentication, subscription and entitlement refresh, the update check, and downloads from Valve and GitHub — and forms part of the information we provide with this Agreement.

9. Statutory guarantees and warranty

Australian Consumer Law. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service. Nothing in this Agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded. How to make a claim, and who bears the expenses of a claim, are set out in the Terms of Sale §7.

Other jurisdictions. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law grants you mandatory rights (for example under EU or UK consumer law), nothing in this Agreement limits those rights.

Otherwise "as is". Subject to the above, the software is provided "as is" and, to the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Where the goods or services we supply are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, and to the extent section 64A of the Australian Consumer Law permits and it is fair and reasonable for us to rely on this clause, our liability for failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited, at our option: for goods, to the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods, the repair of the goods, or the payment of the cost of replacement, equivalent goods or repair; and for services, to supplying the services again or the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again. This paragraph does not apply to goods or services ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use.

Subject to the two paragraphs above: (a) our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with this Agreement or the software is limited to the greater of the total fees you paid for PalCommand in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and AUD $100; and (b) we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits, revenue or business, and — subject to §9 and to the carve-out in §6 for loss caused by our failure to comply with a consumer guarantee or our negligence — we are not liable for loss of data or game saves, even if advised of the possibility. These limits apply to claims in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, but do not limit remedies for reasonably foreseeable direct loss that the law does not permit us to exclude.

For clarity: (i) the limits in this section do not apply to liability arising from our fraud, gross negligence, wilful or reckless misconduct, or breach of our obligations under the Privacy Policy; and (ii) reasonably foreseeable direct loss caused by our negligence — including direct loss of world saves so caused — is not excluded by §6 or by paragraph (b) above, and is subject only to the monetary cap in paragraph (a).

11. Termination

This Agreement continues until terminated. We may terminate or suspend your licence if you materially breach this Agreement (including §2's restrictions) and, where the breach is capable of remedy, fail to remedy it within 14 days of notice. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the software and cancelling any subscription. On termination your licence ends and you must stop using the software; the files on your machine (server installs, saves, backups) are yours and are not deleted by us. Sections 5–7, 9, 10, 12 and 13 survive termination.

12. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland. If you are a consumer, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules, or of access to the courts, of the country in which you reside.

13. General

  • Changes. We may update this Agreement for future versions of the software or renewal periods, for valid reasons such as changes in law, security, our features, or third-party dependencies. We will publish the new version with its effective date; material changes will be presented in the app or by notice before they apply to you. A changed version never imposes materially worse terms during a period you have already paid for: if a material adverse change would apply to you before your current period ends, you may reject it by terminating and receiving a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees for the remaining period. Otherwise, continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance for that use.
  • Entire agreement. This Agreement, the Terms of Sale and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement regarding the software and supersede prior discussions.
  • Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
  • Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement without our consent. We may assign it as part of a business transfer, with notice to you, provided the assignee assumes all of our obligations under it and your rights are not materially reduced; if such a transfer materially disadvantages you, you may terminate and receive a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees for the remaining period.
  • No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
